My kids have been passing these around the table for an hour, holding the frog one up to the window to see its insides. The acrylic is shatter-resistant, which matters a lot in a house with a toddler who drops everything.

The acrylic blocks are thicker than I expected, so I don't worry about my toddler dropping them. We keep the frog and flower ones on the windowsill and the light shines right through the specimens.

My 6-year-old spent a solid half hour just turning the earthworm specimen over in her hands, asking where the head was. The acrylic is thick enough that I don't worry when her little brother inevitably drops one.
