The acrylic accents actually catch the light in a way that makes the whole thing feel less like a toy and more like decor. I was worried the wood would feel flimsy at this size but it's solid, and my son hasn't stopped playing with it since it came out of the box.
My daughter spends hours rearranging the rooms, and the solid wood frame has already survived a few drops without a scratch. The acrylic accents throw soft color across her floor when the afternoon sun hits them. Way sturdier than the plastic one she outgrew last year.
