My 3-year-old spends a solid 20 minutes with this, which never happens. The five circular pieces are smooth-sanded so they don't snag little fingers, and matching them to the square blocks keeps her focused.

My three-year-old figured out the matching on her own within a few minutes, and now she just quietly slides the circles around while I cook. The wooden squares are sturdy enough that I'm not worried about her tossing them across the room.

The smooth-sanded circles glide along the track way easier than I expected, so my four-year-old can slide them without getting frustrated. Matching each piece to its square block has turned into our little after-nap ritual.
